LMC Mission:
emccc actively solicits diverse individuals representing a cross-section of the business, professional, educational, governmental, and non-profit sectors who have motivation and a commitment to the region.
Using a strengths-based approach, Leadership Montgomery County:
♦Builds the leadership capacity of current and future leaders in the Eastern Montgomery County region.
♦ Increases participants’ understanding of how to leverage their personal strengths.
♦ Broadens the scope and diversity of participants’ professional network.
♦ Serves as a catalyst for dialogue about the region’s civic issues.
LMC Program Goals:
♦ To promote personal and career development in five dimensions, each individual participant will:
Gain a better understanding of him/herself
Gain a better understanding of others
Understand how to lead high performing teams
Understand successful organizational leadership practices
Understand the responsibility of leadership within the community
♦ Grow a community of leaders including program alumni, program advisors, and sponsors.
♦ Facilitate the opportunity for real-life application of acquired knowledge through the Leadership Forums,
which are run by actively supported teams of program participants.
♦ Create opportunities for active engagement around community needs and issues, which has a long-term
impact on the positive growth and development of the region and its businesses.
♦ Fund and support the program through participant fees, sponsorship, grants and partnerships.
