Leadership Montgomery County - Program Vision & Mission


LMC Vision:

Leadership Montgomery County
will produce a highly capable, informed,
and engaged network of leaders serving
Eastern Montgomery County.

LMC Mission:
emccc actively solicits diverse individuals representing a cross-section of the business, professional, educational, governmental, and non-profit sectors who have motivation and a commitment to the region.  
Using a strengths-based approach,
Leadership Montgomery County:
Builds the leadership capacity of current and future leaders in the Eastern Montgomery County region.
Increases participants’ understanding of how to leverage their personal strengths.
Broadens the scope and diversity of participants’ professional network.
Serves as a catalyst for dialogue about the region’s civic issues.

LMC Program Goals:
To promote personal and career development in five dimensions, each individual participant will:
           Gain a better understanding of him/herself
           Gain a better understanding of others
           Understand how to lead high performing teams
           Understand successful organizational leadership practices
           Understand the responsibility of leadership within the community
Grow a community of leaders including  program alumni, program advisors, and sponsors.
Facilitate the opportunity for real-life application of acquired knowledge through the Leadership Forums,
    which are run by actively supported teams of program participants.
Create opportunities for active engagement around community needs and issues, which has a long-term
    impact on the positive growth and development of the region and its businesses.
Fund and support the program through participant fees, sponsorship, grants and partnerships.

LMC Core Beliefs:
Leadership occurs everywhere within an organization and community.
Leadership is a relationship between people and a process of bringing those people together to
    accomplish positive change.
Leveraging personal strengths and the strengths of others is the most powerful and effective way to lead.
Building on organizational and community assets are the quickest way to success and positive impact.
Learning is best when the learning environment is highly interactive, fully engaging everyone in the room.
